Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information when you browse cars, list a vehicle, book auto service, or request an insurance quote.

Maple Driven is operated by Marché Vérifié Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information on our website and related tools for browsing cars, listing cars, booking auto service, and requesting insurance quotes.

01Information we collect

We collect information needed to run marketplace and service features you use on Maple Driven.

  • Account details: name, email, phone, location, and password when you register.
  • Listing details: vehicle info, photos, videos, price, location, and description when you post an ad.
  • Service bookings: shop search details, preferred date/time, vehicle info, and booking messages.
  • Google Calendar (auto service workshops only): if a workshop connects Google Calendar, we access calendar metadata and event data needed to show busy times and create Maple Driven appointment events (see Google Calendar section below).
  • Insurance quote requests: driver, licence, vehicle, and contact details needed to send your request to licensed partners.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, search filters, device/browser info, and similar technical logs.

02How we use information

We use personal information to provide and improve Maple Driven services, including:

  • Showing and managing car listings
  • Connecting buyers and sellers through messages and leads
  • Supporting dealer and service-provider accounts
  • Routing auto service bookings to shops
  • Syncing workshop appointments with Google Calendar when a shop opts in
  • Sending insurance quote requests to licensed partners
  • Preventing spam, fraud, and unsafe use of the platform
  • Sending account, security, and service emails

03Google Calendar access (auto service providers)

Optional Google connection for workshops

Only auto service / workshop accounts on Maple Driven may connect a Google account to sync appointments. Everyday car buyers, private sellers, and auto-parts shoppers are not asked for Google Calendar permission. Connecting Calendar is optional and can be disconnected at any time.

When an auto service provider chooses Connect Google Calendar (or signs in with Google for a workshop account), Maple Driven requests Google OAuth access so the workshop can keep Maple Driven bookings and Google Calendar appointments in sync.

Google permissions (scopes) we request

  • Basic profile: openid, email, profile — to identify the Google account connecting the workshop.
  • Calendar events: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events — to read timed appointments and create or update Maple Driven booking events on the workshop calendar.
  • Free/busy: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.freebusy — to see when the workshop is busy so online booking slots are not double-booked.
  • Calendar list (read-only): https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.calendarlist.readonly — to find the workshop’s calendars (including appointment calendars) that should be checked for busy times.

How we use Google Calendar data

  • Show workshop appointments in the Maple Driven auto service calendar panel
  • Block taken times on the public booking page so customers cannot book over existing Google appointments
  • Create a Google Calendar event when a customer books through Maple Driven (so the slot is reserved on Google as well)
  • Update or remove that Maple Driven–created event if the booking is rescheduled or cancelled

What we do not do with Google data

  • We do not sell Google Calendar data
  • We do not use Calendar data for advertising
  • We do not share Calendar contents with other Maple Driven users except as needed to show booking availability (busy times) and manage the customer’s own appointment
  • We do not request Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or unrelated Google product access for this feature
  • We only use Calendar access for the workshop that connected the account

Storage, security, and retention

OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored securely (encrypted at rest where applicable) and used only to call Google Calendar APIs for that workshop. Tokens are refreshed as needed while the connection remains active. If the workshop disconnects Google Calendar in Maple Driven, or revokes access in their Google Account, we stop using those tokens and remove stored Calendar credentials from the workshop profile.

How to disconnect or revoke access

  • In Maple Driven: open the auto service Calendar page and choose Disconnect Google Calendar.
  • In Google: visit Google Account → Third-party access and remove Maple Driven / Marché Vérifié access.

Google’s use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. Maple Driven’s use of Google Calendar information is limited to providing and improving the calendar sync and booking features described above.

04Sharing and partners

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only when needed to run the service:

  • Buyers and sellers: limited contact or chat details so you can communicate about a listing.
  • Dealers and shops: lead or booking details needed to respond to your request.
  • Insurance partners: quote-form details so licensed partners can contact you.
  • Google: when a workshop connects Calendar, authentication and Calendar API calls go through Google under Google’s terms; we do not sell that data.
  • Service vendors: trusted providers for hosting, email/SMS, maps, analytics, and payment processing.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law or to protect user safety.

05Security and storage

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect personal information from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access.

Secure connections

Platform traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. Passwords and payment details are handled with industry-standard protections and payment-provider controls where applicable. Google OAuth tokens for workshop Calendar sync are stored securely and used only for the purposes described in this policy.

06Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar tools to keep you signed in, remember filters or preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work fully if cookies are disabled.

07Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct outdated or incorrect details
  • Delete your account where allowed by law and platform rules
  • Disconnect Google Calendar access for a workshop account

To make a request, use the Contact page.

08Underage users

Maple Driven is for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will review and remove it.

09Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top shows when the latest version was posted. Continued use of Maple Driven after an update means you accept the revised policy.

For platform rules, see our Terms & Conditions.
